ExpressionEngine 2.0 Under the Hood of this Baby!
I had a few hiccups along the way, mostly due to a corrupted database backup file, but overall the upgrade to EE 2.0 was smooth. In the next couple of weeks I will do a more indepth post about the upgrade, but just wanted to mention a few things that I like about the long expected 2.0 version.
I really like the new way ExpressionEngine handles uploads. The interface makes it easy to browse images that are already on your server or upload a new one. There is only one thing that bothers me about the new interface and that is that if I am uploading an image and then I click on “resize” I am not able to go back to the “upload” area if I decide to change the location that the image should be saved to—ofcourse, by then it’s too late since in order to get to the “resize” area the image has already been uploaded, but It feels like I’m trapped if I am not able to go back.
Creating and managing weblogs (channels in 2.0) is a lot faster now since you don’t need to go through a long series of clicks to get to the admin pages. I haven’t played around with the control panel, but so far I like.
