The best part of ExpressionEngine is that it makes no assumptions about the way you work.”
I had heard that line a lot before using ExpressionEngine, but I was never really sure of what it meant. After using ExpressionEngine on a few projects now, I realize why it’s such a big deal. But coming from years of using other CMS systems and blogging engines, the methodology and paradigm behind ExpressionEngine can takes a bit to get use to—particularly with the word “weblog” that until 2.0 was used to mean “bucket of information.”
This is part one of three screencasts on the basics of ExpressionEngine. Part one is an introduction to ExpressionEngine tags, part two will cover installation and implementation and finally in part three we will look at how to optimize ExpressionEngine. Enjoy.

Thanks for this. You have convinced me to give it a try. Love the fact that I will not have to deal with themes!
